A cybersecurity expert from McAfee, the antivirus company, is sharing how to protect your computer or smartphone from spyware.

The unnamed employee says that in addition to never downloading files from sources you don’t trust, pop-ups are also dangerous.

“Never click ‘Agree,’ ‘OK,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Yes’ in a pop-up, as these actions can trigger an automatic spyware download,” they warn.

According to this expert, the best way to avoid this is by closing out of a browser entirely by clicking “force quit” on a Mac or clicking “end task” on a PC’s task manager.
